This happened to me also, I have the R4 as well. I found when I did the bios update it change my hard drive configuration so look for that. Make sure it's set correctly
yes, it is possible the bios update set your settings to revert to default. Some here have had a small shot at recovery by either making sure the sata controller is set to ahci mode, or boot's set from uefi to legacy. No promises there old chap
