Hi nikpower19,

We apologize for the inconvenience caused and appreciate for all the trouble shooting steps tried to resolve the issue.
However as the Blue screen appears only when you’re playing games, does it also happen when you’re using any other applications on the computer?
Also please access the computer in Safe mode, try playing games or applications and check if the blue screens appear.

Do reply us back with your responses.

it didnt happen when using any kind of applications ( meaning google chrome and such) , only just in gaming .... my guess the problem is related with my nvidia gtx 580m but the diagnostics shows nothing , neither i have any heating issues

Hi nikpower19,

Thank you for your response,
I’d suggest you to please try the following steps mentioned below.

1. Please install the latest version of BIOS from the Dell Support website by clicking on the link below.
http://dell.to/13LIvIZ

2. Type the Service tag and under Drivers and Downloads option, select BIOS and install the same.

3. Please run the Diagnostics on the Video Card to check the functionality by clicking on the link below
http://dell.to/13X4Rq4

4. Under Dell PC Diagnostics Select the option Hardware and Select the option Video Card stress and click on Run Diagnostics,
this will run the test on Video Card.

5.Uninstall the NVidia Graphics drivers from Control panel and re-install the same from the manufacturer’s website by clicking on the link below.

Please try the steps and let us know any issues.

1-2. already installed

3-4, done, test passed

5. didnt fix it :/

i dont know if this can be helpful, but i experienced the same problem couple of months ago, but previously the diagnostics were detecting a problem ( pictures are included in the linik/previous post) . this time though it detects no problem but i still get the same error

the problem was fixed just by updating the nvidia drivers , something that it wasnt fixed this time

Hi Nikpower19,

Since your computer's a M17X R3, I have a couple of things for you to try:

From our support page, download the BIOS A12 and the vBIOS for the GTX 580M.

- Flash the BIOS to A12.

- If the BIOS is A12 already, re-start the computer and press F2 repeatedly to get the BIOS screen:

Advanced tab > Primary Display > change from SG to the other option to disable the integrated video card (it will provide a better performance)

- Perform a clean installation of the video card driver; you can use Nvidia's latest driver.

- Burn the vBIOS onto a CD or DVD. Boot from the CD and flash the vBIOS.

After this troubleshooting, if you continue to experience the same BSOD, contact your local tech support phone to get the video card replaced.

Are you still having the BSOD?

If so and you still have an active warranty, contact your local tech support to get your video card replaced.
