Boot Hard Drive Replace With M.2 SSD
I'm receiving my Alienware 15 R2 today and I'm going to change the boot drive to an M.2 SSD the question I have is if I create the recovery USB media via Dells recovery software and then install the OS on the M.2 SSD with the Dell USB recovery media I create will it re-create/clone the original Dell hard drive i.e. put all the various partitions in place including a recovery partition? I would like the ability to recover the laptop at a later date without messing around.
I've had HP laptops before and there user created recovery media would not do this and I had to get the Free software on USB direct from HP to do this is Dell the same?
Thanks

I do not think you can clone the original Dell drive. I think best option would be to download the Dell Factory Image ISO from the product support site. Go to Dell > Support > Enter the Service Tag > Click on option for factory image > install Dell Detect software > download the image.
