BSOD on Nvidia driver and Directx Kernel

Hello,

I hope you can help me on this one.

I bought an Alienware M14X last month, and since the first day I'm having problems with a BSOD that appears.

The error is 0X00000116, and it happens every time I try to play a game. I did a lot of research but couldn't find a case solved. I called the Alienware support since the first day and they are very helpfull, but couldn't solve my problem, I'll probably have to send the Alienware to repair, but I'm in Brazil and will be in US only on March. I did some tests and found this:

- I used a stress test program for the GPU and the BSOD happens when the GPU reaches 58ºC (136ºF)

- The sensors of GPU-Z show the GPU working on top everytime when the maximum performance is configured in the energy plan configuration

- When I configure the energy plan to put the GPU in a balanced energy state, I can play the games but not with maximum performance and they show lags and are slow. I left the GPU-Z running in background while playing Assassin's Creed Revelations, and saw that the temperature reached 59ºC (138ºF) with no BSOD

So, given this information, what do you think it could be? Do you think its really a problem with the NVIDIA GPU or there is some configuration o solve it?

Thank you for your help.

BSOD code 0x00000116 = not enough voltage to gpu, ram or northbridge, faulty video card, faulty ram, faulty motherboard, or corrupt video drivers.

It could be anyone of these.

If doing extreme 3D gaming, I would only expect it to work properly on AC Power Adapter and "High Performance" Power Profile (which should include Active Fan Cooling).

Be sure it's getting enough air (maybe even underneath). 59c/138f is not too high for a desktop but I think max temp (and throttle-back) might be lower on a laptop.
