Command Center Problem
I keep attempting to turn up the PCI-E fans in Command Center. It lets me select everything after I hit 'Manual', instead of 'Curve', but it doesn't sound like the case fan is increasing (to 100%). The rpm stays the same as it was before I put it on fixed 100%; which confuses me.
I've uninstalled and reinstalled Command Center, but, it still doesn't change.

It's Auto or Manual. Then, (if Manual) it's Fixed or Curve.
Fixed is always at that speed. With Curve, you can set Low and High thresholds ... and it will adjust between the two settings, depending on the temperature near the fan in question.

I have it on manual, fixed 100%, and for some reason, the RPMs won't increase. It doesn't seem like anything is changing at all.

Did you select APPLY after making your changes?

I'm not sure how to test the 'Is thermal control reporting it properly', however, after trying to boost the hard drive fan to 100% manual fixed, and also trying to open and close the vents on top, nothing is responding... It accepts my 'apply', but, it isn't doing anything. The vents won't open, or close. >_>
Also, yes, Sajin, I do intend on it. :)
However, now that you quoted that, I imagine this thread is going to be closed too. lmao
Edit: Ambient sensors showing 0ºc? (both 1 and 2) 3 shows 65ºc
What's happening?

This is very strange... I don't think I've ever heard of this one before.
If the MIO-Board was bad or locked up, Command Center would complain with a communication error when Win-7 boots up. So, is Thermal Control reporting (the slower) RPMs properly?
What about the other controllable fans? ... same thing?

Perhaps the fan leads are not properly set causing the rpm's not to register or the top bar has failed?
While running, remove and slide back on the fan lead to its connector.

Not sure what you guys are talking about ... Your previous Dual 590 thread is still online.

See my post in this thread:

Follow all those links.
I would be good to know if the specific MIO-Board tests pass in Dell Diags. Also, what happens when you "exercise" the fans and lights in DD.
Check that all components are connected to MIO-Board good, including the "remote daughter board".

Fans worked during the system test, however, lights didn't work during the test, nor when I manually changed them in CC.

I did the clean uninstall first, which didn't work. I then downloaded the alienware diagnostics and ran a system test, and everything passed aside from: (Error Code: 0F00: 133C -- Disk - No suitable disk media is present).
Any suggestions?
I don't know what Power-Off power dissipation fix means, and finding the bad electrical connection between components almost needs to be in 'picture' for me to actually attempt it. xD

Glad to hear you got it working and it was simple.
IIRC, the Power-Off dissipation fix seems to be unique to the Area-51 (and it's slightly different MIO-Board setup ... over the Aurora). Hopefully Dell will look into it and fix it at some point in the expected Area-51 re-design. Interesting it passed in Dell Diags while it was still broken.

You win, Tesla, you win... It was as simple as Power-Off dissipation. Thank you, everything is now working properly! Now, if I could some how cool both 590's! lol :(

These temps are with the case door closed & plastic card shroud in place with all fans at 100%. 83C is not overheating, 97C would be overheating and cause the cards to throttle which will give you the stuttering you were experiencing. I would just run the system like this when gaming and be done with it. If you start to experience more stuttering even with all fans at 100% let me know.
The cards jumping to 50C while opening your browser is normal.
