Computer randomly freezes?

I got an Alienware Aurora with and i7-980X, 11GB Ram and 1000GB harddrive and geforce 295 graphics card. This system has been running great on windows 7 ultimate but this past week, I've been experiencing random freezing.

I thought it might be from the online video game I'm playing but that's not the case and it happened while the computer was at the desktop(main screen)

I'm not sure what steps I should take to do any testing and see what could be the problem. I'm going to upgrade my graphics card and try resetting the ram stick and dust the computer. I've never had this freezing problem until it started happening last week. Wonder if it could be the new adobe flash?

I bet the video card is bad
