Dismissed m11x hinge issue
Hey,
I too have the hinge cracking problem on my glorious little M11x, thought not as badly as others it would seem. After calling Dell twice and spending hours talking to numerous foreign customer service reps, and trying in vain to find a way to e-mail them here in Australia, I am just about done with Dell altogether. Apparently because my M11x was purchased from a private reseller (new) it counts as second hand, and Dell feels they are able to clear themselves of any responsibility to me as a customer, despite the fact that this has been admitted to be a manufacturing/design defect, and completely ignoring the fact I have bought 2 Dell laptops previously. If the Dell site identifies my laptop and its specifications when I enter the service tag, surely that is an admission that it is a Dell manufactured laptop, yet I am dismissed. I know I'm not the only one having problems, but I have been a loyal and satisfied Dell customer for 10 years, and yet trying to get support is like drawing blood from a stone. What makes even less sense to me, is that I can't even find a way to get a quote to PAY to have it fixed. I guess once they have your payment on the laptop they have all they need from you. Chris, thanks for all your help, I have a couple of quick questions. If I am to use the unresolved issues form, how and where do I get a case number for the 2 calls I have made? Secondly, can you confirm that the 'out of warranty' cover in this program refers to only laptops bought directly from the Dell site?
Thanks for the help, good luck everyone

Jyers,
The first thing you have to do is transfer the ownership of the service tag into your name. Once that is completed, we can tackle the hinge issue by generating a Case number in our tool off of the service tag number.
