I had the same issues and for me it was overheating. Download MSI Afterburner and watch how high your vid card temps go. If it seems out of the normal, set a custom fan profile to have it run at like 50% all the time, then go into the command center and get that big intake fan spinning faster too, because with the default settings its almost useless. Im not sure what the max temps of the GTX580 are, but you should set the fans to run at 90% once they get within 10-15 degrees of that mark.

I lowered the temps on my GTX590 by close to 15 degrees celcius by doing this and those errors went away.

I should also further mention, goto Nvidias website and download the latest drivers. Most people suggest downloading Driversweeper and clearing your drivers that way first. If your not comfortable doing that, when your installing the new drivers through Nvidias tool, click custom install and click the perform clean install box. It basically sweeps all the drivers for you, reboots the computer then starts the driver install.

Well I installed the latest drivers, the issue still happens.

I got in contact with tech support, they did some standard nonsense tests, had me download Techpowerup GPU-Z 0.5.8  and said, we'll call you back in a few days, never got a call back.. and i'm still frustrated that I payed 2k for a computer which had this existing issue with it from moment I purchased it.

I think I'll just return it and never buy one again.

Have you taken out the card and tried reseatting it? Just an idea and I would like to know what the temps are for the card.
