How the heck do u eject a disk?
Hi, all. I am really out of place here. Most of you would find it a positive thing that I have this alienware computer, but it actually landed in my lap as a last ditch alternative to an XPS 17" inch lemon from dell. After 6 months of trying to fix the xps, they exchanged the computer, but no longer have the 17" xps so here I am. Anyway, I don't get this computer at all. I have not a clue what goodies are available that i am not aware of and may never find out because when dell exchanged the pc, they did it w/o giving me a warranty or support of any kind so i have no help whatsoever. Not cool at all after what they've put me through, really.
In any case, i am trying to set this thing up and somehow got my printer to install, but how the heck to I eject the disk? The start-up guide says use "f4" and it does nothing. I cannot find anything in th control panel so what toi do? Please help- i need to move on to office and get on my with my business life.
THANKS in advance!

Hi,
My apologies.
Enable “Function key” in BIOS. Restart the computer and tap F2 at Dell logo. Under “Function key behavior” change it to “Function key” and tap F10 to “Save and exit”.
You need to use FN and F4 Key simultaneously to eject the disk in the drive.
The keyboard combinations are listed in the table below. Do not type the symbols when executing a command.
Opens the Task Manager window.
Enables or disables the wireless Radio.
Ejects the media in the optical drive.
Enables or disables Alienware Perf.
Toggles touchpad and touchpad LED backlight functionality.
Toggles Alienware FX Illumination.
Please reply for further questions.

Press the FN button at the same time as the F4 and your disk will eject.

Hi,
I sincerely regret any difficulty you have experienced while trying to resolve your concerns.
May I know the exact system model?
You may try to right click the optical drive in My computer and click "Eject".
Awaiting your response!

Ok, thanks. So there are no specific buttons for these applications, just the function keys?

If the Alienware 17 had the full functions buttons like the M17x, R2, R3, R4 - then this post probably would not have been written, just another reason to revise the current style (or lack of) in the alienware 17 - What an ugly piece of technology it is when compared to ALL previous models
