m11xr2 nvidia optimus problems

Hi there! so i recently got rid of my gaming rig and started playing games on my m11x again, after putting a shiny new ssd in it and reinstalling windows i found (to my horror) that a lot of games run very slowly.

now i'm going to go ahead and assume this is to do with nvidia optimus, as games like cs:go and civ 5 work absolutely fine, however, games that are far less intensive run very slowly (like slow motion) games of note are quite recent ones, such as battleblock theater and mashed (steam) however it is also the case for games like spelunky as well.

i was wondering if anyone could point me to a recent driver for nvidia optimus...  as the only one i have found is from march 2010!

(i should mention that i have made the global preference for the nvidia 335m, and even set each individual game to use it, however it doesn't seem to make a difference.

i should also mention that these games ran absolutely fine before i re-installed windows, and i have installed all of the original drivers/updated them

i remember a year or two ago i was trying to get starcraft 2 to work and i did find a newr version of optimus, however i cannot find one now

Hi!

You can find the latest driver from NVIDIA here. However, we recommend you use the Dell Support driver from this link. When re-installing either driver, do a clean installation as explained here

If after trying both drivers the issue persists, I recommend you follow the troubleshooting steps on this article

Let me know how it goes!

My m11x r2 runs best with NVidia Driver 332.21 new ones then that caused problems that resolve as soon as I rolled back to this one. Mine is a beast, a space heater for sure but a beast non the less. Don't forget the NVidia control panel tweaks. twcom m11xr2/m18x r2

also note that the PhysX drivers also upgrade. my m11x r2 runs best, meaning least lag and coolest temps, with PhysX legacy driver 9.12.1031. that makes the best combo for the performance of my m11x r2 are; nvidia driver 332.21 with PhysX driver 9.12.1031. do not let your system auto update these drivers. other combos have given a higher quality image but overheat my 335m gpu to the point of crippling throttling and  <ADMIN NOTE: Substitute character removed as per TOU> frame rates. twcom m11xr2/m18xr2
