M17x-R3 Problems
Greetings.
I have an M17x-R3 and I'm having some debilitating problems.
1) I cannot get the system to work properly with Java. I installed the latest Java and websites & Libre Office seem to have problems with it. I've reinstalled (trying again now).
2) IE and FF both have problems with internet video. I can watch them in the actual webpage fine, but if I full-screen the video, it only works on rare occassion. Usually IE/FF freeze and I have to reboot the computer.
3) I cannot run Civilization 5. It installs fine but it only runs to the intro video and hangs.
4) The I/D GFX button does not work. I can't tell if/when I'm using internal vs. dedicated graphics card.
I've even done a complete fresh install of the system to no avail.

4) You can tell which mode you are in by looking icon tray. There will be a monitor icon and when you hover over it, it'll say intel hd, or something like. That tells you that integrated graphics arebeing used. If you don't see that icon then you are using your graphics card.
As for everything else. those are all graphics card issues except maybe the java. Which card did you get in your system?

Do you by any chance purchase the 3D option (with the nVidia card)? If so, the integrated graphics is disabled as it's not compatible with 120Hz panels. In that case, you should be running on the graphics card.
