mx14 won't charge or boot

I've got an mx14 and I was able to turn it on but I left my room and came back and my laptop was off (this was within a 10 minute time span). I looked at the charger and the light was off too. I made sure the charger was ok, unplugged and plugged it back in and the light turns on. But when I plug it into my laptop the light goes out. I opened my laptop and took out the battery, pressed the power button for a minute and tried to plug the charger back in and the light went out again. I put the battery back in and plugged in the charger and the light still goes out. Any help would be much appreciated.
