I too have had this issue. I have tried going into the Bios and setting the adapter to a different setting, but that did not help. My only solution was to:

1.) Unplug the power cord from the wall, then the back of the laptop,

2.) Remove the battery and wait for 15 seconds. (I wait 30 seconds)

3.) Reinstall the battery.

4.) Plug the power cord into the back of the laptop.

5.) Plug the adapter into the wall.

6.)  Restart the laptop. After the system boots into Windows, you should see the battery charging symbol in the lower right corner of the window. If you place your mouse over this symbol, you should get a popup window that states "charging".
