Need help !

Question

I have a alienware aurora R1 (x58) desktop. I went to upgrade the processor to a i7-975. Installed it with no problems. I went to boot it up and all that happens is the fan spin on high. I took the CMOS battery out as I have researched. Tried it again and same thing. So I put the original processor back in and still the same thing. I tried the processon in another pc and the processor worked fine.

Do you hear any sequential beep codes?
