This behavior is basically the same for my Area 51 ALX system. when booting up, the color comes on, fins flare then remain fully open (my setting), fans run up and level off (my setting), then (sometimes) lights go dark, then through the boot process the alien head goes into the yellow morph sleep colors, then at some point all lights come on including the keyboard and mouse...seems to be all normal for this newest version. After boot, I then use the fix I found to get "events" to work.

hi, i also had this problem with the new command center flashing and going dark until windows booted up and i actually had to go to my original command center to stop the flashing.i was just wondering what the fix is if thier is one.I would like the newest command center without the flashing.

Other than it being something that bothers you (which you're entitled to)...what's the big deal regarding what Command Center does up to the point it gets to your desktop?.... I'm just happy I found a fix for the "events" that keeps me using the latest 2.6.1.1. Also, I'm pretty sure you are not supposed to use the Command Center that came on the back-up disks.....download it from the Dell site....
