On board sound enabling
Hi all,
How can I enable my onboard sound and stop using the Sound Blaster XFi? Do I physically have to pull it from the slot? What settings/drivers to do I need to load to just use the onboard sound on the R3? It was never run withour the card (Dell installed)
Thank you all!!!!!!

First you go into the BIOS and turn it on. Then go and download the driver for it. Next you go into sound settings and set it as default sound. Then you can switch between the card or onboard sound by just going into the sound tab.
Keep in mind you will need to plug your speakers into the mobo sound jacks. This makes switching between the two a pain in the butt. If you plan to keep it set to onboard then just remove the sound card and uninstall the drivers for it. If you plan to use it as say the sound card for the computer speakers and onboard for a TV or something then thats fine. If not then remove the card.

One small issue with going back and forth between the card and onboard if anyone else tries: There is a connector that must be removed from the card and plugged into the mobo if you want the front jacks to work.
Thnak you all for the help!!!!

Depends. Some need it while others can pass it through without it. Mine doesn't need it.
