I purchased an Alienware M17xR4 approximately 3 years ago.  I know it is out of support time frame.  When I first purchased the laptop i had the same issue of the optical drive not playing BluRay discs but would play DVD and CD's.  I contacted Dell support and they were able to fix the problem within minutes.  Since then I have had to factory restore my system and now I'm having the same issue.  I contacted Dell and they wont fix it.  They tell me its a software issue with Microsoft and I need to contact them.  The only way Dell would help is if i pay for phone support to fix the problem that I had from the factory to begin with.  I have searched and searched and have tried many different ideas online and nothing seems to work.  For the life of me I can't remember what he did to fix the problem the first time and I don't think its very ethical of Dell to expect me to pay to fix something that came wrong from the factory again when it was shipped with this problem to begin with.  When I contacted Alienware support they even had records of what they did but wouldn't tell me any specifics.  Can someone please help!!
