Overclocking an R3
OK so the i7 2600k is an unlocked processor - unless you get it in an Alienware R3? The A06 bios appears to completely prevent overclocking the 2600k by raising the multiplier past 34 - or am I missing something? So the only way of "overclocking" is by upping the turbo mode settings? And will anyone from Dell ever tell us what the hell GT overclocking is? (google and you will find a wall of silence). Alienware is surely a machine for the enthusiast who is willing to pay a lot of money for a superior system, and who would appreciate being able to do something to get value for money in the BIOS.

Keep asking around. Same problem was going around about the i7 920 and eventually something was figured out and people were able to overclock. The one I'm getting is supposedly already overclocked....
