Personalized Nameplate & Battery
hello i recently purchased an M15x laptop ( which finally arrived a week ago thank goodness) and i wanted to ask if it is possible to order a personalized nameplate because the one that came with my laptop was a standard one instead of a personalized plate (i think they forgot about it) anyways i was wondering how do i order for a new nameplate and also wanted to buy an extra 6-cell battery

you'll have to phone dell for sure. did you order your computer in canada??? my m15x from canada came with a standard plate too. my 15x from the states came with a personal custom plate. ive been told by dell, canada doesn't do the personal plates.. but ive been told alot of things by dell that are wrong... so i dont know what to believe...

go to alienware.com. click on m15x under products.. click customize. at the very top of the page there are now 4 tabs.
( 1. customize, 2. optimize performance, 3. software & Acces , 4. review )
click optimized performance. it will tell you about the personalized plate there... along with alien FX, etc...

Call tech support. They sent me one.
I got my Area 51 back when Dell first started selling Alienware. I looked all over for the name plate but couldn't find it so I called tech support. After sometime on the phone we found out that only the laptops came with a name plate. Desktops used to come with name plates before Dell took over. The tech then tried to order me one anyway but you needed to own a laptop for the system to except the part order. So he got hes supervisor and he was able to send one to me. Is that cool or what :)
I bought a mx17 a while back so now I have another one WITH my name on it.

I have a laptop that works fine(the one I'm using to write this review) and I just want the plate for my work locker.

I'm attempting this now, I'm in the UK, and I'm being told I can't get one in the UK, but should be able order one if I have a US address to have it sent to.
IF i can order one, I'll have a US PO set up to accept it and redirect but no luck yet.
Anyone whose had some luck wanna order another with my name and I'll throw you a Benjamin or 2 for the trouble ;)
