i can normal install on both drives ive read somewhere the driver might be gone for raid is that true i have had raid once one here with unmatched 500 wd blue and seagate 500 gig i know the drives are good for sure im looking into your link sent thanks

You might want to download the WD Diagnostics and run a deep scan on both drives to make sure they are good.

Then, see this thread (and links toward top).

And, since it doesn't take long to fresh install, you might want to disconnect one and do a normal install to make sure you don't have some other problem.

it seems as if my aw is missing something i have also had the 1 tb wd in raid with the other 2 500 gig hds

Download this from support.dell.com "Intel Matrix Storage Manager (OS Pre-Install Driver Only) ". I think Win7 will read it from a flash drive. Right when you first start to install Windows, you press F6 (I think) and it will allow you to install the special HDD driver (Intel's).

If you can get Windows to fully load once, install the Intel Chipset drivers ASAP. Then "Intel Rapid Storage Technology - Version: 9.6.0.1014, A03"

However, IIRC ... the RAID support in BIOS and the bundled Microsoft HDD driver should have been enough to get Windows installed.

i was able to get raid 1 but i would like raid 0
