What do you mean by "not working"? Only the ALX has powered up/down. It's manual on the standard Area-51. Push the alienhead button, it drops, slide it up briskly and it closes.

Yes, I know ALX has the motorized door - I have to push the Alienware head firmly to open the door whereas the youtube videos show that it doesn't need that effort. But of course it can be misleading to come to a conclusion with a video from youtube.
On the Aruora there is no motor that operates the door . It looks like a rolled up tape measue that just slows the downward motion . When Tech support replaced mine I was shocked to see no motor .

I would think not,but could be wrong here . On mine they sent a tech with a new front .

Get Tech support to replace it,it is a nightmare to do . The Tech guy who did mine fussed all the time he did it .
