had tech out here twice with button replacements if i hold button down hard comes on and shuts off but unit glows yellow and dont completely power down
Assuming you have an Alienware M17X R4 the yellow power light indicates the below behavior: If the laptop is connected to an electrical outlet, the power/battery light operates as follows:
I also suggest you to check with a known good AC Adaptor. Do reply with your findings.
