Hello lljayceell,

You’re right regarding the USB connectors; you should disconnect them before start up.

And about the keyboard, what port do you have it connected to?

my bios loads really slow... it is because i have a lot of usb connections... when i take off most of the usb connections it loads faster...

i'm using A08.. i haven't upgraded to the newest bios..

i have an alx desktop w/ 2 ssd set in raid 0...

just wondering if upgrading the bios would help... or if there is something  i can turn off in the bios so the all usb connections don't load up during the bios...

also my keyboard is usb connected.. so i would like that to load during startup

hope that makes sense..

thanks in advance!

These Alienware systems except for maybe the brand new ones with UEFI have very slow BIOS boots. Even without anything plugged in they are slower then other systems. All you can really do is live with it or use the sleep option instead of always shutting it down.

I just got a new Aurora R4 that had the A08 bios, and it loaded so slow I was sure something was wrong (compared to any other computer or laptop I have used). The bios screen would come on and the loading bar would freeze half way, the computer fans would blow wildly, and finally there would be a beep and I could use F2 to then open bios or let it finish and let Windows start. However, I upgraded to A09 and it loads so much faster - at least twice as fast, and the load bar completes instead of hanging halfway. You may want to go ahead and update if you want a faster start time!

Things plugged into the USB ports can cause it too. I have a printer that will make my loading bar stop.
