Someone please help me..
I've read a few other of these and their help did not seem to help, I have an x51, when i start up it says the disk drive cannot be found please try to reseat the drive , f2 for setup or f5 for the test thing, .. Also f1 to strike boot to the drive , well For one this is my fault, while i was looking around in setup i changed my monitor settings on accident thinkin it would have switch to my main display through hdmi, rather than my 2nd display through the pci well it didn't I can't see anything now , But I know other than my mess up thats fine , but about the disk drive, I've ran all the test and "all tests passed" I even ran the thorough test that took about 4 hours still passed ... Also I opened up the side pannel and I have no idea what I'm looking for honestly in reguards to "reseating" the hard drive... Please If ne1 has any suggestions I'm in really bad need of help

It maybe that you have de-selected your Disk drive in the BIOS. If so, just adjust your BIOS and tell it to boot up your disk drive. If it has been disconnected some how, make sure that all the connections to your drive are firmly in place and that there are no faulty wires. Always remember to turn computer off before going inside the thing.
If that doesn't work, hopefully someone will be able to assist you from dell support. Try using their online chat option, I have found it useful recently.

I think it has something to do with the way the Dell UEFI capable systems (x51 and Aurora R4) handle standard bootable discs.
We were working this problem (Dell-Frank and I) with an Aurora R4 user. I have a feeling something is not right with it, but since it works with the Win-7 DVD-ROM, the Dell support stopped. I doubt they are even investigating it:
en.community.dell.com/.../20131721.aspx
and here is another:
en.community.dell.com/.../20133078.aspx
and yours makes 3.
I find it hard to believe that the standard boot-loader has changed, and that all existing bootable CD-DVD-ROMs are now useless.

Well, I called tech support with Alienware and they guided me to a point of booting with the windows disc and after the process started they said to call back if , after it were finished I'd I had any problems well it got to the 2nd step and about 70% of expanding windows files came with an error saying files were missing or corrupt ... What am I suppose to do if the disc ment to set up windows dOesnt work? After that I closed it , I retries but the same result but now it does not even get back 0% .... And tech support was closed by the time it errored the first time I guess I have to make time to call but , I find it crazy one of the most prestige gaming computer company will ship out such a low quality product ... Since mine went bad I've been reading about so many people having about the same problem going on , it's crazy I had such a respect for alienware prior to this I suppose after this ill either get it fixed or try to get any kind of money back since I've only had this x51 for about a month ... And just start from scratch and build my own , my last computer build from the ground up lasted a long time guess its the way to go ... Was hoping to save time this time around

Yeah, I am hearing a lot of horror stories aswell. It seems that you have a faulty dvd drive and they should replace it if this is the case. I would reccommend you request a replacement drive next business day, which I am sure is part of your warranty (having difficulties getting to the warranty information myself).
