There isn't like 'one guide' or one fix. People have been reporting CmndCntr issues on W10 since August 3rd or so, & using whatever tools/methods there are to try, either they didn't help or if they did very few people have come back to the forum to report the success story & explain what the fix is. Ok? One by one as people fell into the forum I & others have tried to lend advice, which scattered the advice over many posts, so you'll have to root around & 'try everything', sad but true. If my Aurora was on 10 & I had an issue & found the cure I'd have made its own post by now. Until then my 'advice' is scattered.
It reduces to launching your version of CmndCntr.exe & attempting a 'repair' - if no good - uninstall CC & try a different version. Turn off fast startup in 10 & in thermals get off of auto fans and set to manual 'fixed' or manual 'curve'. If no joy, fall down the rabbit hole of links here:
@Alienware-Rodriguez: A-Rod. Aurora R4 Windows 10 Fans 100% fix? ... any word yet on a fix?
note that Cmnd Cntr 3.5/3.6 & probably 3.0 are for R4 only, R1 - R3 can use 2.08.09 (for 7) & 2.08.11 (for 7/8). Post your issue on AlienwareArena.com/forum also; the more of us that post there the better. Do some research, follow what you read, report back & stay tuned if someone else has a qwicker easier solution
