wireless problems?

I cannot connect to the internet unless hard wired to the router.  I performed diagnostics available on Dell website and results read:  'The populated IP address may be invalid.  The default gateway is populated as 0.0.0.0 and the system IP is populated as 169.254.244.220.'  Diagnostic directed me to 'click here' to retrieve new addresses.  After clicking it the black screen box appeared 'command prompt' and after a few seconds it flashed some print on the screen and then disappeared. But nothing changed. All of my other wireless devices connected automatically but not my X51.  Any suggestions?

Have you tried to connect with the x51 to another router, it may be an incompatibility problem due to security settings on the router.
