16 bit windows subsystem

Question

:mansad:can any one help...when i start up my pc i keep getting the message  16 bit windows subsystem  c:\windows\system32\autoexc.nt   then it say's system file is not suitable for running ms-dos and microsoft windows applications..it ask if you want to cancel or ignore when you click cancel nothing happens and it keeps coming up.it took me ages to get on the net for some reason my internet connections had changed and i didn't change them.i had to do a system restore just to connect but the windows 16 bit still appears.i have a dimensions 4600 running xp home with service pack two.spyblocks,zone alarm pro.spybot search and destroy  norton and the rest never had any problems with these so i don't think it's them..went to microsoft for help and they wanted £35 got the first two emails free though..have used the forum before much better!..if you require anymore info will supply it ............any help will be much appreciated..........merry christmas and all the best for 05                                             whipleg

This is a software problem rather than a BIOS problem. If the information at This Site doesn't help solve your problem, you need to post your message in the Software - Windows XP forum. Steve

If you have a Dimension computer, problems with floppy drives should be posted on the Dimension - General Hardware forum. Steve
