2 monitors/1 pc cheapest solution
Hi!
Just bought a Dell Inspiron 518 with a pentium dual-core E5200 (2MB L2, 2.5 GHz, 800FSB) and I'd like to hook up a second monitor to it. I'm afraid I'll have to buy a better video card in or is there a cheaper solution?
Thanks in advance,

I got the basic one: Integrated Graphics Media Accelerator X3100. I'm in no way a gamer and I thought I'd be able to hook those monitors using different plugs... So, say I buy a second video card, how do I go about compatiblity issues with my motherboard?
Thanks for the quick and wise answers.

That will be the most likely possibility, but it might depend on what you have now for a graphics card. You need something with two output connectors to drive the dual monitors. There is no work around but that does not mean you need to spend a lot on a video card.
Alot will depend on how you are planning to use the dual monitors and the system for day to day use. if only to surf the web and email you can get graphic cards for under $100 and some even below $50
if you provide us with more info we can give you more advice
HERE's a link to some really inexpensive cards that would give you two monitor options, as an example

Yes it would work. You system uses PCIe cards. You power supply is 300w the card requries a 300w supply so you are good to go there. Note that cards requires space for two slots.
