3D GRAPHICS PROBLEM X1300

I have a brand new Dimensions 9200 with a Radeon X1300 graphics card.

From day one the 3D graphics have been shocking.

Playing the Sims 2, Battlefield 2142 is almost impossible because of the lines that protude from objects  and the pattern on mixed coloured squares.

I have the latest 7.1 Catalyst and Drivers, submitted help with ATI and the problem is not getting solved. Any help would be appreciated. I have installed drivers correctly by uninstalling and using drivercleaner,

Your 9200 can accept a far better video card than that low ended X1300.  Not a good card to have to play that game 2142 at all.  For right now, you should lower the game settings as much as possible to find the sweet spot to play it.  Than get a decent card.   Unknown how much main memory you have, so if you have 1 gb of memory, that is nomal for todays games, but 2 gb would help even more for other games..

Others have complained about the X1300  X1400 and X1600 ati cards as well.  Perhaps a nVidia card will work better

Did you install the card with the dell drivers or you installed it throught the Ati cd first and than upgraded the catalyst drivers 7.1 throught the Ati driver download site?

A number of members have now complained of the X1300  X1400 and X1600 cards being problematic with some Dell systems.  Might want to consider this and try another card, perhaps from nVidia

Thanks for your reply guys, I have 2 gig of ram so that is not a problem, just the card.

I have tried the supplied drivers first, and when i also submitted the problem to ATI they suggested to update them to the latest.

Even though this might not be the best cards, the problem shouldnt happen, as some of the problems even happen in Media centre.

Thanks.

PROBLEM SOLVED!!!!!

Got a Dell tech around to sort it out. He replaced the card and it works perfect. It goes to say that you pay for a technician in the price so you might as well use them as i have spent hours apon hours searching for a solution.

Thanks to those that responded.
