4600c video help

I bought the 4600c in April. It's having an issue with video playback and screensavers. The movement is chunky, not smooth. I have the Intel 82865G Graphics Controller 64Mb. Is this a driver issue? It's pretty new, so it should be working fine, right? I'm a non-techie so I could use some advice.

Thanks

well, I have a 4600c too, but actually the 82865G isn't that good of a card, and since the 4600c is a low profile system, it can't take regular video cards, I wouldn't have a clue what would be wrong with the playback quality, unless you went to Control Panel/ Appearances and Themes/ Disply / Settings / Advanced and tried to do some tinkering around in there, I wouldn't know. But what I do know is that you can get a pretty good card, which is the radeon powercolor 9600se http://www.power-color.com/r96le-c3s.htm , if your in the market to buy this, you might have to do a little google searching, because newegg is out of stock of them. Too you'd need a DVI to VGA adapter http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=14-999-201&depa=0 , so the final price might be around 90$ If your a gamer, this card would be pretty good, along with your 1024 mb ram, you should get good results. Too it should help the video playback problems.
But if your not really the gaming type and just the normal computer enthusiast, Another thing you could try is http://downloadfinder.intel.com/scripts-df/Detail_Desc.asp?agr=N&ProductID=1044&DwnldID=8007 , this upgrade might solve the problem... if worse comes to worse try to reinstall the video playback utility, and possibley try to tinker around with the advanced options... as long as you don't do anything stupid :)

Thanks! I have tweaked with the display settings to see if it makes a difference. No luck. I did however go to Intel and download the latest driver for the 82865G. (which gave me the Extereme Graphics 2 capability. Shouldn't that have come with the card anyway??)
And poof, it was fixed, no more chunky-ness. But I check it this morning and it's back to chunky motion!! Aarrgh...

Ok, I could go and buy new hardware and go through all that. But really, shouldn't Dell be providing hardware that works?? I bought the machine in April. Is this a warranty issue?

Well, it came with a medium graphics card, and i'm saying this lightly that it's not the best. But if you want to watch movies, you shoulnd't need to buy a new video card. Now this problem, did it just happen one day, and been like that ever since ? And what application are you playing this on ? ( Windows media player, PowerDVD, ect.) If these things happened, just out of the blue, you could try system restore, which i'll explain to you if it did just happen out of the blue. I'm not sure if this would be a warranty problem, because when I had it, I never had that problem, but if you could answer those two questions at the top, i'll try to help you the best I can.
