4870x2 problems

Question

Hello           I recently replaced my dual 3870x2 on my xps 730 with a 4870x2 but there seems to a problem because on the toolbar I get a Safely remove Hardware icon asking if I want to unplug the 4870x2 and high definition audio controller which makes me think the card isn't installed correctly.   Plz help me solve this because i feel like I wasted $635 AUD for a card which is not compatible with the 730. :smileysad:   ps: I downloaded the latest ati drivers and the only thing it installs is the catalyst install manager and the wow trial   cheers wakeupj Message Edited by wakeupj on 08-20-2008 12:04 PM

Customer statement - CrossFire compatibility restrictions.

The Dell motherboard supports ATI CrossFire using both our drivers and the retail drivers. But, to function properly, the Dell drivers must be completely uninstalled before loading the retail drivers. The steps for this process are located here:

Hello

I did uninstall the dell drivers but when I try the ati drivers from AMD all it installs is the catalyst install manager and wow trial.

ps: after posting this problem on the AMD forums i was told the 8.7 drivers dont work with the 4870X2 and instead use the ones on the cd.

But the thing thats most annoying is the remove hardware icon on the toolbar :smileymad:
