tphillips, why don't you like the raid, and what are you going to replace it with, if I might ask?
thanks,

not on mine. Is this a red error or yellow or just informational? I have a four drive RAID in mine now but I am going to bust it up soon.

Its a red warning.

I have looked into this for days now, and found a few tings out, none of them helped me much, http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=http://support.microsoft.com:80/support/kb/articles/Q260/0/25.ASP&NoWebContent=1

I thought this was the answer, I have roxio or whatever its called , and I thought it could be this causing it.

Microsoft say theres 3 causes, new ram and you aint changes the page file size.

Or Adaptec software (as in link)

Or Event ID 49 Entry Is Added to the System Event Log When You Use the 3GB Switch in Windows 2000.

So its not that......................

I really need some help here, its so odd that both h2c units have it???

Things I have done

Uninstalled tiscali internet trail, orange internet trail, turned off the dell network thing, installed zonealarm, installed firefox, done a windows update, updated video drivers, and sound,???? I'm at a lost as to what is causing it, it must be somehting I have done if other users dont have this error!!!!!!

Any ideas?

I have set the page file to 1.5 times the ram (I have 2gb) and I set it at 3gb. never worked.
I have let windows set the page file. never worked.
I have turned off the dump file log and it still posted the error!!!!!!!

I will also add that on one boot it said there was no page file set and did a temp one, I went and set the page file and all was ok, both machines did this??? and have posted the ftdisk error sinse.

Im thinking about getting a noisey 150gb raptor for the O/s, and breaking the raid 0 into back up and a vista boot. this ftdisk is breaking my back to solve, any help will be rewarded with a pint of beer (virual of course lol)

Thanks for yourtime in advance.

Because the RAID is all i/o on basically one channel so I am going to use 1 160GB Raptor for boot, 1 500GB for My Docs (I might do raid1) and another drive for PVR and video stuff and maybe another for other stuff maybe. The reason is that with different drives you can move known disk i/o around between the drives and the computer is much faster overall.

Interesting. So if I broke my raid up, and booted from a raptor, the machine would actually be faster than it is now? I haven't stored anything on the array, just ran my programs and such.
Thats interesting, this is pretty quick right now, I might try that.
Thanks

what is the ID source and verify the number dor me. Turn off crash dump and reboot and enable it again if you want but it sounds like you have a corrupted crash dump file which you don't need on a PC anyway.

Path to dmp file %SystemRoot%\MEMORY.DMP

No, go to
System Properties
Startup and Recovery
Change 'Write debugging information' to none

You probably have it set to full I think but not sure. In any case change it to none or if it is change it to 64kb.

I have done that already too, turned it to none just to stop the error , yet it still errors??

microsoft says something about adaptec making this error, and they say the file name added to sys32 folder, I dont have this file.

I have that roxio installed and thats part of their software ...I think.

Its so odd that other h2c users dont have this error, yet both machines of mine have.

Did you do a clean install .....format and re-installed windows without all of dells rubbish?, as I have tried to clean all that off, stuff like macafee's and other rubbish.

Maybe its something like that causing it.

I have changed the page file size.
I have turned off the dump

and still it shows up.
