about BIOS detecting CPU

so does the dell's BIOS detects CPU speed by itsself right after i popped in a new cpu??? what if it detects wrong??? how can i clock it more/less?? overclock??

You can't overclock the CPU with the XPS 600.  It will auto detect CPU speed.

i wanna upgrade my cpu but i am worrying what if it detects lower or even much higher, then its no good

My manual lists a CPU Clock Speed option setting in the system BIOS, so check into that, but I'm not sure what options you have there.
