My "Add/Remove Program" feature doesn't work. How can I fix it?

When I go to Start, then Control Panel, then click on Add/Remove Programs, nothing happens.
Your hint to go to Run and type "Control XXXXX", should I type exactly what you put in you message?
I tried that but nothing happened.
Thanks

I tried several times typing control appwiz.cpl, but it doesn't work. Could I have a bad file or something? I need help!
Thanks

Try typing the following in run: C:\WINDOWS\system32\control.exe
Any luck with this?

You could check that it has not been disabled in the registry, using regedit. (click start, run, type regedit, click OK; in regedit you navigate to keys in the left tree by clicking on the +s to expand the tree; lefy click on a key to see its contents in the right pane)
If you have the either or both of the following keys
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Uninstall]
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Uninstall]
check whether it contains a value
NoAddRemovePrograms
If it does, either delete it or set its data to 0 (right click on the value, click modify)
If you don't have those keys, then the defaults have not been changed (i,e, add/remove should be enabled) and the cause of your problem lies elsewhere.

Since this was actually an issue concerning the operating system, it would have been better to have posted it in the Software - Windows XP board.
