application errors referencing memory

I am getting alot of application errors when I close out of a program. Please advise-The intruction at "0x5ad71531" referenced memory at"0x00000014". The memory could not be read.

Is your computer overclocked? What model do you have? What ram do you have?

that is telling me your car is beeping at you......

memory is dual 1g-667m-128x64-8-240-2rx8

I have an    xps 600; pentium D 950-3.4g-2m; dual hard drives at 250g-s27.2k-9g. I always have the Adobe creative suite2 running. I bought this computer because I thought it would more than handle it. It is only 4monthes old.

Sorry, you posted the memory amount as I was posting. Sounds like you have enough memory. Is it showing that amount in the system? Go offline,turn off your anti virus and check if you still get the errors. Do the rest of the stuff I mentioned.

How much memory do you have? It sounds like your running out of memory. Do you have the recommended amount of memory for the application your running. Is anything else running in the background? Check for spyware. Make sure your anti virus is up to date. Run the Dell diags on your memory. (boot to the utilities partiton for diags.)

Make sure that you have at least the recommended amount of virtual memory allocated to your system (which is based on the amount of real memory). This is done at the Operating System level. On WinXP:

Start Menu
Settings
Control Panel
System

System Properties Dialog
Advanced Tab
Performance section
Settings...

Performance Options Dialog
Advanced Tab
Virtual Memory Section
Change

Virtual Memory Dialog
You'll find the "Recommended" size at the bottom
