Did you install the Intel Chipset Drivers? they MUST be installed before you can install the sound drivers. The correct install sequence is (1) Install Windows (2) Install Intel Chipset Drivers, (3) Install Device drivers including the Dell SigmaTel sound drivers, Video drivers, Ethernet, etc. We find that most of the install problems are because the chipset drivers were skipped. One of the prime things the chipset drivers do is identify the devices on or attached to the motherboard.
There are instructions on the Download, on the Dell download page for how to install the drivers. Follow those instructions exactly.
Dell SigmaTel Drivers
(assuming you have the standard integrated audio).
I have had the same problem but I made sure to install the chipset first but I do not have the integrated auido. My e510 has a PCI audio card and the one driver provided under the dell driver page does not work it says it is not supported. What do I do?
I have recently had a problem on my father-in-laws dell deminsion e510 computer. My brother-in-law reinstalled windows, but now there are no modem drivers on the system so we cannot connect the cable modem to the computer, so no internet.
I know I need the others drivers, in some kind of order. Can anyone suggest an easy way of getting the drivers for an e510, after windows has been installed, so they can be installed in the correct order? There must be an easier and better way of doing it than going to the Dell website and guessing what drivers have to be intstalled.
