When my computer has been off for awhile and I 'wake it up' I get a small screen that says "Auto- adjust in progress". What's this all about? Grpa

This is happening to me, too, and appearently lots of other people as well.
This has been my experience: I have a CJ281 19" display on a Dimension 5150 using onboard graphics. I was getting headaches and decided I'd try increasing my refresh rate and see if that helped. I went into Properties>Settings>Advanced>Intel Graphics Media Accelerator Driver and changed the refresh rate from 60 to 75. The screen looked odd after doing this, so I set it back.
Now, every time my monitor wakes up it does the autoadjust. This is behavior it never exihibited before, and the long and short of it is-
How do I make it stop?
It's not that big of a deal, but the screen looks fine before the adjust, and I'd really rather not have to wait an extra 5 seconds every time I need to use my system. It appears that somehow accessing the driver settings "woke up" the perception that this thing needs to autoadjust all the time. How do I put that need back to sleep? Re-install the driver? Upgrade the driver? Aybody have any ideas?
I have had the same issue with my monitor on occassion and have found that, in my case, if I power the monitor off and then press and hold the + button while turning the power back on the auto adjust problem is solved.

grpa24,
Thank you for using the Dell Community Forum.
That is from your monitor. Does the monitor start working after the message goes away?
