Bad memory or program glitch ????

I'm having a problem when eudora is left by itself for long periods of time. It ends up getting the shut down boxes and the error returned is:

Instruction at 0x73dd1351 referenced memory at 0x00000004. The memory could not be read.

Does this mean I could have a failing ram module and should look into having dell replace it, or is it program related? I've ran eudora for awhile and not had the problem and it's just started in the last week or so, so I don't think it's the program. I did try a reinstall and the same problem happened.

Thanks in advance

Todd

If you have more than one memory module swap them. If the address comes up the same, it is unlikely the problem is with your memory. Also, if you are not having problems with any other software it is unlikely you have a memory problem.

A more likely problem is that the memory is being overwritten by another program and when the failing program goes to read it - it finds information it did not expect or can not read. Memory overlay problems are usually caused by poorly written programs.
