Bad_pool_caller :(

Question

I recently had a BSOD with the error 'Bad_pool_caller'. After reading the forums I thought my problem was memory related after purchasing new RAM I still get the same error.Has anyone else had this problem? btw after Bad_pool_caller it says '0x000000c2 (0x00000043,0xdd874000, 0x00000000, 0x00000000) any help would be appreciated ty.

Happened to me a couple of years ago.
the good news is i got it fixed
the bad news is i had to buy a whole new Hard drive and reinstall
everything. I made the original drive(with bad pool caller) as drive 2
so i did not lose data.

before i did the above i tried everything i could think of to get it back
but i was left with no choice but a reinstall

Does the error message list a specific application, .dll or .sys? That'll tell you what software or driver may need to be reinstalled. Ron

Bad_Pool_Caller   Well, i dont know what caused this but i think that this may resolve the case..   go to..   Start > Run.. then type 'services.msc' (without the ')   then on the list, look for 'Indexing Service'... right-click over it.. then click on properties... then put it to 'disabled'.. restart system.   if this still doesnt work.. the next thing I did was doing msconfig..   Start > Run.. then type 'msconfig'...   then Click the tab that read 'Startup'... then click 'Disable All'.. just make sure that you leave the once for your anti-virus... then restart system..

Reinstalling windows may also fix the problem.
