Best Processor / CPU
Hi everyone,
I currently have a Dimension 9200C with:
Pendtium D Dual Core 2.8Mhz + 2Gb Ram DDR2 + GEForce 8600GT 512Mb and just in case, my PSU 275w.
The original video card was a ATI Radeon (can't remember the model) but had 128Mb, and recently I replaced it with the above one.
I am now interested in upgrading the CPU. I know that the socket is a 775.
Can I install a Intel 2 Duo Dual Core? Or even a Quad? If so, what would be the BEST I could aim for?

based on the specs, this system will support standard (not extreme) Core 2 Duo and Quad core processors up to 1066 MHZ.
Quads Q6600, Q6700, (possible also Q9000, Q9100)

I would watch out for the amount of heat these produce in this small case, the systems were sold with at least Q6600 and E7200. make sure to update the BIOS before upgrading.

Some of those processors are 800FSB, 1066FSB and 1333FSB.
Can I pick any of them or do I have to choose a particular one?

choose the 1066FSB
the 1333s will not work, the 800s may not work.
I believe I listed all the 1066s that are listed at the intel pages (I included the pages so that it would be easy for you to reference and compare them)
