bios beep code 132
Demension 4700 will not boot up - getting beep code 132 - probably means 64-kbyte RAM test disabled - how do I get it to boot? I reseated the ram many time and also replaced the ram with new crucial ram - 2 strips of 256 mb same as the original. Tried clearing the bios many times. Nothing so far as stopped the beep code 132. I have a feeling it is the cpu - P4 - 2.8 Gb prescott fsb 800 -socket LGA - I have reseated many times also. If the CPU is bad as I suspect - But then if I am wrng and it is thwe motherboard will I destroy the CPU when I put it on a bad motherboard and vica versa.
Thanks

remove both memory modules ... add 1 module and boot ... same beep code ?
remove this module and add it to the other bank ... boot ... same beep code ?
try same procedure with 2nd memory module ...

make sure that your HDD are connected properly ... I just had a situation like yours where my old DELL did not boot and I could not get into setup ... while I removed/re-installed a 2nd HDD I partially unplugged the HHD connector on the motherboard ...
Make sure you unglug the power cord and ground yourself when you work inside the PC

I'm stupid ... sorry about the last message ...
when you install memory in pairs make sure that you use banks 1 + 2 with white securing clips,
or 3 + 4 with black securing clips

Changed CPU - did not fix - changed Ram did not fix - check and reseated all connections did not fix - Only possible parts left to look at is power supply and motherboard - steady green light on power LED - diagnostic lights AB - Amber , - CD - Green indicating memory problem.
