A09 is the most recent version on this very site: (cut and paste)

http://www.support.dell.com/FileLib/Type.aspx?c=us&l=en&s=gen&Category=1&OS=NAA&OSL=EN&SvcTag=&SysID=DIM_PNT_P4_8200&DeviceID=308

or

There's also a link there to "previous versions", A08 and earlier.

If it were me, I'd try the hard disk w/o the flash FIRST and verify that BIOS sees the full capacity. If not, then I'd flash and re-verify.

Good luck.

OK here goes another newbie question....Knowing that the a09 is the latest for my computer, I want to know can i upgrade the BIOS without a hard drive installed in the computer...like for example take out my old hd and right before installing the new hd I "flash" the BIOS with the floppy disk or whatever

ok please bare with me lol 1 more question, I wanted to know how can I reset the bios to default settings because about a year ago I was messing around with the BIOS and callled dell and they told me to press Ctrl+..?? or alt+..?? Im not sure I remember they told me to press that and also I had to take out the pw jumper in the mobo to reset computer pw thanks alot

Yes, you can flash the BIOS from a floppy with no hard disk installed. Note I'm not asking "why" :)

Secondly:

Default ALL BIOS settings:  ALT+F , then ESC and enter to exit saving changes.  This will also force IDE re-detection upon exit.

To clear the MB NVRAM/memory/hw configuration:

caps lock/scroll lock/num lock keys enabled, then ALT+E , then ESC and exit to save changes.

Good luck.

(PS- I'd still try to install the new hard disk BEFORE I flashed, but that's just me.....)

I've got to update my BIOS because I am upgrading the processor.

I was told to use A11. T or F?

If you are still referring to your XPS T model then the answer is.... yes.  From what I recall of our previous discussion you were not only upgrading the processor, but the hard drives which will require at least version A10.  Also version A08 included additional processor support.  So as long as you're upgrading the BIOS then go with the latest version which is A11.
