Boot up error ( Repost)
During Boot up (starting or restarting my computer )
I get the following message :
Error
02B0 : Diskette drive A error
Press Esc to resume or Del to set up
When I press Esc , the computer continues to boot up and everything seems to work ( even Drive A !).
When I press Del , I come to another screen but don't know what to do, so I press exit without saving.
In the manual from Dell it says as possible cause
Drive A is present but has failed the BIOS POST .
I should also check if it has been correctly defined
in the system setup program .
I do however NOT understand what to do .
I might note that my comupter is only 4 months old and that I have not installed new software for about
1 month . My computer worked fine , but suddendly from out of nowhere this problem occurs.
Help & Thanks

First, the reason your initial post had strikeouts is because you used characters that told the server you were using HTML. When you typed you were telling it to delete everything that followed. No big deal, but the first time you use the < and > character it is somewhat alarming.
When you type Del to enter the BIOS on the first screen you see you will see an entry for floppy drives. Move down to that entry (using your arrow keys, you are in DOS so the mouse won't work) and click Enter. Your system should define drive A: as a 1.44/1.25 MB 3 1/2" drive. If it does, that isn't your problem. Hit Esc then F10 (or whatever says to exit and save your changes) and confim that with OK.
It may be that the cable to your floppy drive has gotten loose and a little vibration makes contact again (since you say it operates normally after you press Esc. You can open the case, disconnect the ribbon cable to your floppy drive, then reconnect it and see if that solves the problem.
Someone else may have a different suggestion, but this one is the best I can do.
