boot-up

Question

I had to do a reinstall of XP on my 8200.  I have a couple of questions.  Do I need to reinstall the monitor drivers (DELL 782).  The system seems to work witout them.  Also when the system boots up.  There is a 25 second delay (you can override with space bar) while you select the operating system.  I only have XP home addition (which is listed twice).  How do I get the system to launch without the delay?? epc

You have two copies of XP in the " Boot.ini.File " this document can help you edit it

Printing a copy both for a reference and to read may help.

Sounds as if you did not delete and recreate the XP partition on the HDD when you reinstalled. You ended up with two installations of XP on the same drive.

I'd suggest you start from scratch again and delete and then recreate the partition.
