burning errors!

Hi everyone. I have a Dell Vista Home Basic-Inspiron 531S-Windows Media Player 11 Desktop. My problem is when I try to burn music tracks to a cd, a red circle with a white "X" inside it appears next to each track along with an "error" sign. My CDs are fine and ready to be burned to. It does this to all my music tracks. It doesn't matter if it is a music track that I put on from a commercial cd or one that I downloaded. Would appreciate any help you can give. Thank you.

Hi ElSavoy,

To isolate the issue, I would like to know the burning software that you have used to burn the CDs.

Also try updating the Recording software thorough the Update option within the software and check.

Please reply for further help.

Hi Nikhil. I don't understand when you say "burning software". I have a disk that says "For reinstalling "Cyberlink PowerDVD 7.0 Software". Other than that, I just use what came with the computer. Also it updates automatically once a week. Does that help?

Hi ElSavoy,

Cyberlink PowerDVD 7.0 Software is used to play the dvds. I would like to know the software with which you are making the dvd’s.

Nikhil D, i'm sorry for being so dense, but I don't know what you mean. First, I'm not making DVD's. The problem is I can't burn my CDs from my Windows Media Player library. All I do is make my list to be burned and click the "Start Burn" button. I don't know anything about what software is being used. Thank you.

Please install the klite codec pack and set the associations for Windows Media Player:

http://www.free-codecs.com/download/k_lite_codec_pack.htm

Once you have installed the klite codec pack retry burning the CD.
