Can't you just click on the file you downloaded to the desktop and it will install? Should be an executable file.

Thanks for the reply.

I have tried that but without success. When I try to go into device manager to update the driver it will not recognise any exe file.

This sounds more to me like it is the display driver that you need to install first. Sounds like you are running windows display driver. Have you downloaded and installed the correct and up to date display driver? With the 16 color only option it is more the display driver causing that. As for the monitor, you can just run Plug N Play but you need the video card adapter driver in my opinion.

Thanks for this. Maybe I should have told the complete story!!

I partitioned the hard drive and installed W2000 on one side and xp on the other. The display driver on the xp is a nvidea which supports 32 bit colour and is OK. However as said above the W2000 will not pick up this driver.

I don't know a lot about windows 2000 but you might have to D/l the driver for the video card for 2000 and install it with 2000 running. You using a dual boot situation? The XP driver may work for 2000 also but I think you will have to install the driver again for 2000.
