Can't Boot from CD!

I need to repair my XP installation, but my brand new system refuses to boot from CD. I called support today and spoke with Anthony; he suggested I reflash the BIOS.

I downloaded the A05 flash update. When I ran the installation program, it said A05 was the current BIOS version, so no changes would be made. I told it to go ahead anyway, and it did reflash, but it made no difference.

When I get the prompt to press any key to boot from CD, I do so, and the system just hangs. The boot never completes. I have tried putting the CD drive at the top of the boot sequence, and have also tried pressing F12 during the boot process and selecting CD drive. Despite trying both of these several times, nothing ever happens.

Whan can I do?

Thanks for your help.
