case question
I have a new dimesion 4700 in a min something or another case. I want to know can I upgrade my case on this system b/c my $200 video card won't fit and it really begining to annoy the heck out of me. Is there anything I can do or I am just up a creek with no paddle?
If more information is needed to answer this question I will be happy to provide it.
Thank you.

DZX162.
Both the Dell motherboards and cases have proprietary features and are not standard ATX, one of them is the proprietary ribbon connector between the motherboard and front panel, also the D4700 uses a BTX PSU [24 pin plug, in place of the ATX 20 pin] If you use a non Dell motherboard, the Dell OEM copy of XP is tied to to their BIOS, so that you will have buy a new copy of XP.
Replacing the motherboard or case with non-Dell parts, will void the warranty on the computer, as it will not be classified a Dell system with either of these changes.

Thank you for the info, what do I do about my old video card , EBay?
Seriously, when I go out to buy a part for this thing can I go to the local electronics store or do I need to call dell directly. I fell in love with the 256 card in my old systme and now, the128 video card that came with the system, which I don't see in there for some reason is just no getting the job done. I am not a serious gamer, but I did get used to the 256. I know I may have to just bite the bullet and ride it out, but if there is ANY WAY to get a new card in there PLEASE let me know.
Thank you.
