Hi computer1101,

We can try few steps to check if the issue is resolved

  1. Restart the Computer and Attempt to Eject the Disc within the Operating System Environment.
  2. Attempt to Manually Eject the CD tray in the System Setup (BIOS) after resetting BIOS defaults.
  3.  Use the Emergency Eject Option to Open the Tray on the CD Drive, if available.
  4. Reseat the Optical drive.

Are you using Vista?  If so, go to Computer, right click on the letter corresponding to your DVD/CD drive and click on Eject found on the menu that drops down.  If the disk is truly stuck, this may not work since clicking Eject uses the same motor to push the tray out as does the button on the front of the drive.

You can also shut the computer off and examine the front of your DVD/CD drive to see if you have a small hole, usually found in the vicinity of the eject button on the drive.  If your drive has the hole, find a paper clip and straighten it out as best you can.  Insert the end of the straightened paperclip into the hole on the front of the drive and gently push.  You may need to insert a bit more than an inch of the paperclip before the tray will try to move.

A tray jammed by a disk can be stuck very well, and none of these options may help.  If you can't get the tray to move by using the paperclip method, you may need to replace the drive.  The components of a DVD/CD drive are not generally made strong enough to eject the tray after a disk has been forced between the tray and the body of the drive.  If you need to retrieve the disk that is stuck you may need to find a way to disassemble the drive.
