Well it's hard to say but Intel considers 925x a "Performance" chipset while they consider the 945p a "Mainstream" chipset. The 925x has the 2GB/sec bandwidth between the memory and I/O. The 945p has 3Gb/sec SATA transfer rates. The 945p also has a faster memory bandwidth, 10.7Gb/sec. The 945p also supports the 1066FSB.  Looks like they both have their benefits.

looks like if you want something better then the 945p you would have to go with 955x
